FALL SEMESTER
​FAFSA - complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid - available on October 1 each year
Have 3-4 letters of recommendations ready for scholarship applications
Start researching scholarships and working on applications
Visit colleges to help finalize decision
Apply for admission to schools. During SD College Application Week in November, you can apply to SD post-secondary schools for free!
Ask Mrs. Ahlers or Mrs. Adrian to submit transcripts to the schools you apply to
Take personality assessments, participate in work-experience class, or job shadow to help narrow down a career path.
Sign up for Spring Dual Credit classes
Retake ACT if desired
SPRING SEMESTER
Continue filling out scholarships
Compare Financial Aid and Scholarships of the schools you are considering
Complete ongoing college paperwork- housing, enrollment, scheduling, etc...
Submit your scholarship information to Mrs. Adrian for the spring awards ceremony
SUMMER BEFORE COLLEGE
Attend orientation
Double-check that your scholarships and loans are in order
Work to save for college
Start getting items for college move-in!
